Dark Arts is the opening photo to 3AM album. While the original Dark Art’s was digitally altered, darkening the Bonsai tree is darkened to mirror a dejected state, in 3AM’s Deluxe the image was retouched, reflecting the opposite mind state, as the image comes into colour, mirroring a closer look to the raw file of the photo.
My 3AM shoots are a response feeling trapped. The pursuit and reward of roaming at night to create the 3AM series frees me of an isolated feeling. In contrast, although motivated by negativity, expressed visually is the high of exploring off the grid, reconnecting with nature and a rush from possible danger.
